Re-Buried - Flesh Mourning

Image
My Review on Re-Buried - Flesh Mourning Re-Buried is a death metal band hailing from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 2018, they’ve carved out a name for themselves in the underground with a raw and uncompromising style deeply rooted in old-school death metal. After dropping a few singles and a demo, they released their crushing debut Repulsive Nature in 2023 – a record that gained solid attention from fans of the genre. Now they return with their second full-length, Flesh Mourning – and it’s a brutal step forward. Release : July 18th 2025 Label      : Translation Loss Records Origin    :  Seattle , Washington Rating   : At the end Review : Seattle-based death metal band Re-Buried returns with their second full-length album, Flesh Mourning – a 30-minute onslaught spread over eight relentless tracks. Their 2023 debut Repulsive Nature set the bar high, and now they’re back to prove they’re not messing around. This is raw and brutal in all t...

Kauan - Atm Revisted

Image
My review on Kauans album ATM Revisted Kauan was founded in Russia in 2005 by Anton Belov. Despite their Russian roots, the band has always had a strong connection to the Finnish language and mood – their name means “for a long time” in Finnish, and many of their lyrics are still written and sung in that language. Musically, they have evolved from folk-influenced doom metal into a more atmospheric, post-rock-inspired direction. ATM Revisited is a complete re-recording of their 2009 album Aava tuulen maa . The original version was made under modest conditions, with sampled drums and a limited budget. This new edition, released in 2023, rebuilds the album from the ground up with real drums and bass, a new production, and a warmth that finally gives the music the depth and clarity it always deserved. My Last Promise

Image
Review on My Last Promise - A Funeral Of Being Release : 13.07.2025 Label      : Independent Origin     : Ukraine Rating    : At the end My Last Promise is a one-woman project rooted in both Norway and Ukraine. The music moves between depressive black metal, post-black, and atmospheric black metal. Behind the project is the artist Haze , who started it in 2024. A Funeral Of Being , released in July 2025, is her debut album – a deeply personal, dark, and melancholic work, marked by both fragility and raw emotional strength. Review :  Somewhere between the echoes of ColdWorld and the silence after Sadness, we find A Funeral Of Being – an album that feels more like a suicide note to reality than a traditional release. My Last Promise delivers nine tracks of icy, existential black metal that neither screams nor comforts – it simply is . I stumbled upon this album randomly while browsing through new releases online. I’ve been bitten by th...

Blackbraid - Blackbraid 2

Image
My Review on Blackbraid-Blackbraid 2 Release : 7.7.2023 Label       :Independent Origin      : Usa Rating     : At the end Once again, the algorithm did its job – Blackbraid suddenly appeared on my playlist, and for once it hit the mark. This is a band with such depth and musicality that I probably should’ve discovered them much earlier. After listening through everything they've released so far, I decided to review their second album, Blackbraid II . And with their third album dropping in August, I’ll definitely be covering that as well. Blackbraid is a one-man black metal project from the Adirondack region of New York State, created by Sgah’gahsowáh (Jon Krieger), who is of Mohawk descent. The project launched in 2022 and quickly gained attention for its unique blend of atmospheric black metal and themes rooted in Indigenous identity, nature, resistance, and spirituality. The debut album, Blackbraid I , was released in the summer of 2022...

Primal Frost - Path Of Resilience

Image
My review on Primal Frost - Path of Resilience Release : 11.07.2025 Label     : Independent Origin    :Toronto , Ontario (Canada) Ratin     : At the end Primalfrost is the solo project of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Dean Paul Arnold, based in Toronto. Known for his technical precision and high-speed playing, Arnold has built a name for himself both as a studio musician and a touring guitarist with bands like Vital Remains and Ex Deo. With Primalfrost, he explores a more cinematic and melodic side of extreme metal – blending death metal, blackened elements, orchestration, and occasional bursts of power metal energy. Path of Resilience is Primalfrost’s third full-length album, following Prosperous Visions (2014) and Lost Elegies (2021). After years of refining his craft across various musical projects, Arnold returns with his most ambitious work to date – a culmination of his evolution as both a composer and performer. Red Vinter - Lumbering Menace

Image
My Review on Red Vinter - Lumbering Menace Release : 11.07.2025 Label    : Independent / Self- Release Origin    : St.Paul Minnesota , USA Genre    : Doom / Death Metal Rating    : At the end Intro : Reed Vinter is a doom/death metal band from St. Paul, Minnesota , formed in 2023 by vocalist/bassist Mike Bullock and drummer James Achilles . Joined by guitarists James LeBrasseur and Dylan Jones , the band creates a sound that’s slow, crushing, and atmospheric — drawing influence from acts like Monolord , Obituary , and Godflesh . Their name means “Red Winter,” evoking themes of war, apocalypse, and Nordic darkness. Rather than chasing speed or technicality, Red Vinter aims to “crush the listener slowly.” After a strong demo and EP, they released their debut full-length Lumbering Menace in July 2025. My Review :  Minnesota-based Red Vinter delivers a debut full of darkness, weight, and apocalyptic atmosphere with Lumbering Menace . Tru...

Angerot - Seofon

Image
Review Angerot - Seofon Release : 11.07.2025 Label       : Redefining Darkness Records Origin     : USA (Sioux Fall , North Dakota) Rating     : At the end Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m not exactly well-versed in the world of death or black metal. It’s only recently that I’ve started opening my ears to this chaotic and energetic form of art. The deeper I dive into it, the more gold I find – this is where the algorithm finally does something right. As someone who’s long loved heavy metal and metalcore, I have to say that death and black metal give me something more. More emotion, more desperation, more hate – more truth, really. But this isn’t about my relationship with genres. This is about Angerot and their latest release. Angerot is a death metal band from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA, formed in 2017. The band was started by vocalist and guitarist C.R. Petit, known from previous projects like Suffer . Alongside him are lead ...

ScareCrow NWA - IX

My Review On Scarecrow NWA - IX Release : 10.07.2025 Label     : Running Wild Productions Origin    : Austria Rating   : At the end Scarecrow NWA (formerly known simply as Scarecrow) was formed in Graz, Austria in 1995. Over nearly 30 years, the band has developed a sound that blends melodic death metal with blackened and progressive elements. Around the mid-2000s, they adopted the name Scarecrow N.W.A. – short for New World Annihilation – and have since built a solid reputation in the underground scene through intense live shows and no-compromise releases. Previous albums include Beyond Reality (2000), Misanthropolis (2005), Transgression (2011), and Ragnarök (2021). The band is known for technical ability, conceptual strength, and raw energy – all of which are on full display on their ninth full-length, IX . Review: To mark their 30th anniversary, Scarecrow NWA delivers IX – a concept album inspired by Dante’s nine circles of hell. E...

Këkht Aräkh

Image
Review of Pale Swordsman (2021) Behind Pale Swordsman stands Dmitry “Crying Orc” Marchenko – a one-man artist from Mykolaiv, Ukraine. He previously released the demo Through The Branches To Eternity (2018) and the debut album Night & Love (2019). With Pale Swordsman , he refined a contrasting lo-fi aesthetic – where raw black metal meets vulnerable piano balladry. His name combines mythological healing and poisoning, and his pseudonym emphasizes the balance between strength and sensitivity.   Pale Swordsman Released : April 10 , 2021 Label      : Livor Mortis (original release) Reissued by Sacred Bones Record in December 2022 , on CD , casette and vinyl. I stumbled upon this Ukrainian dynamite by coincidence — whether it was a recommendation or a random clip, I honestly don’t remember. But if someone sent it my way, I owe you a serious thank you. On first listen, Pale Swordsman didn’t quite land. It felt distant, almost out of reach. But there was so...

Akouphenom - Connections to the Erebus

Review of Akouphenom - Connections to the Erebus(EP 2025)               Release Date : July 4 , 2025                Label : Avantgarde Music / Unorthodox Emanations                Format : Digital and CD (25min, 4track)                 Rating : At the end of the review From the dark coastal city of A Coruña, Spain, Akouphenom has been forging their sound since 2014. The name itself refers to “tinnitus” – that lingering high-pitched noise left behind after being exposed to deafening volume. It's fitting, because what this band creates stays with you. Following several demos and their full-length debut Death·Chaos·Void (2023), they now return with a new EP: Connections To The Erebus . Four tracks, 25 minutes. Not a long release – but it hits hard. Right from the first second, it’s clear: this is aggress...

Welcome to my blog

Hey, and welcome! This blog is my personal corner of the internet—built out of a deep love for music, especially the heavy, the dark, and the powerful. Here you’ll find album reviews based on what truly speaks to me, not what’s trending. I write about records I stumble upon, old or new, and share honest reflections from a passionate listener’s perspective. You’ll also get behind-the-scenes updates from my podcast Heavy Metal Talks—including upcoming interviews, thoughts after recording, and maybe even some stories that didn’t make it into the final cut. This isn’t a place for hype. It’s a place for music that moves me—and maybe moves you too. Thanks for stopping by. Stay heavy.
