Unveiled NightskyWinter Eternal

Winter Eternal was founded in Greece and is now based in Scotland. You can hear both sides in the sound ,something epic and melodic, but also cold and sharp.

I’ll be honest , I’m not deeply rooted in this part of black metal. But I keep finding myself drawn more and more into it. So this isn’t written from years of scene knowledge ,just from what I hear and what I feel when I press play.

Melodic. Cold. Atmospheric.

The tremolo riffs carry most of the album, with blast beats kicking in when things need to move. There’s a solid mix of slower sections and faster parts, and that balance works well.

And when it hits ,it really hits.

I can also hear clear death metal touches in some of the riffing. It adds weight without taking away the black metal core. And yes , there is actual violin parts in here. They add another layer to the atmosphere and give the melodies more depth without taking over the sound.

The production is good. The instruments sit high in the mix, clear and present. The vocals are slightly lower, delivering that raw, old-school black metal shriek. It doesn’t sound overdone. It sounds real.

There’s some roughness here too. Not overly polished. Not trying to be modern for the sake of it.

This is an album built on melody and atmosphere. And when everything locks in, it pulls you in completely.

Do I recommend this album? I absolutely do , i'll be spinning this again. This one just made my 2026 top album list.

Hauk
